Dayton City Schools HVAC Installation
Prodigy partnered with Dayton City School District to execute a comprehensive, multi‑facility HVAC modernization program across Charity Adams, International School at Residence Park, and Ponitz Career Center. The work included full replacement of aging chillers, boilers, pumps, VFDs, control systems, and mechanical specialties—bringing each building up to modern performance, safety, and energy‑efficiency standards.
At Charity Adams, the project included demolition of two boilers, a chiller, and thermal storage tanks; installation of three new boilers and two new chillers; new primary and secondary pumping packages; grooved‑end fittings; glycol addition; unit ventilator sealing; a new fan coil unit; and replacement of chilled and heating water specialties. Electrical upgrades included new feeds, panel modifications, VFD replacements, BACnet control wiring, and reconnection of existing equipment. Additional work included balancing, insulation, AHU servicing, and delivery of spare parts and service components.
At the International School at Residence Park, Prodigy replaced boilers, chillers, pumps, and mechanical accessories; installed a 600‑gallon buffer tank; added new VFDs; upgraded control wiring to BACnet; replaced unit heaters; and provided new electrical feeds for major equipment. The project also included modifying housekeeping pads, balancing systems, installing new chilled and heating water specialties, and providing spare parts and storage solutions.
At Ponitz Career Center, the team demolished the indoor chiller, cooling tower, and heat recovery chiller; replaced chilled water pumps; installed new primary and secondary pumps; added a 400‑gallon buffer tank; installed two new chillers on new concrete pads; modified fencing; abandoned underground piping; and installed new VFDs. Electrical work included new 405A feeds, pump feeds, conduit modifications, and reconnection of existing systems.
Across all three buildings, Prodigy delivered a coordinated, district‑wide mechanical upgrade program that improves reliability, reduces maintenance, enhances comfort, and extends the life of critical HVAC infrastructure.
