Oakwood Theater Renovation
Prodigy delivered a comprehensive upgrade to the Oakwood Jr. & Sr. High School auditorium, transforming the theater into a modern, high‑performance venue equipped for concerts, plays, assemblies, and community events. The project included full replacements and enhancements to the audio system, theatrical lighting, rigging, projection, and house lighting, along with repairs to existing curtain and stage equipment.
The audio system received a major overhaul with a custom‑built control booth desk, a 40‑channel digital console, networked stage box, wireless control capability, and a new speaker system featuring line arrays, subwoofers, and floor monitors. Theatrical lighting improvements included a new cove light bar, LED fixtures, moving heads, cyclorama washes, and a 2048‑output ETC lighting controller with dual monitors. All fixtures were installed with new DMX lines, clamps, safety cables, and power distribution.
Rigging upgrades addressed safety, reliability, and long‑term performance. Prodigy inspected and corrected shackles, trim chains, battens, and clew terminations; replaced unsafe hardware; repaired the main curtain; serviced the 4‑line shaft system; and installed eight new Thern CW11 hand winches.
The projection system was modernized with a 293” diagonal screen, an 8,500+ lumen large‑venue projector, matrixed inputs, and a clean wall‑mounted installation. House lighting was integrated into the theatrical control system, adding dimming capability, multiple control stations, aisle lighting, and safety edge illumination.
The project concluded with full system documentation, wiring diagrams, presets, and in‑person training from system designers ensuring Oakwood staff and students can confidently operate the upgraded theater.
