Wayne High School Robotics Lab

Prodigy partnered with Huber Heights City School District to transform an outdated classroom into a fully modernized Robotics Lab designed to support advanced STEM instruction, hands‑on programming, and real‑world automation training. The renovation included mechanical, electrical, architectural, technology, and furniture upgrades—creating a high‑performance learning environment aligned with industry standards.

Mechanical improvements included replacing the existing heating‑only air handler with a new heating and cooling system tied into the building’s chilled water loop. New exposed spiral ductwork was installed to improve airflow and create a modern industrial aesthetic.

Electrical upgrades included installation of a dedicated 208/3/60 electrical panel, new circuits for all robotics equipment, and full lighting replacement throughout the lab. Fire alarm devices were modified to match the new layout.

Technology and instructional enhancements included providing layout and placement for a full suite of robotics and automation equipment:

  • (2) Yaskawa YRC1000 robots

  • (2) FANUC ER‑4iA robots

  • (2) FANUC CRX‑5iA collaborative robots

  • (1) PLC/HMI Controls Center

  • (1) FANUC/Levil EDU Mill Cobot Integration Package

  • (5) FANUC CNC Simulators

  • (3) Bantam Tools Desktop CNC Milling Machines

The lab also received a 12' whiteboard, six 55" networked displays for instruction and presentations, five adjustable‑height worktables, adjustable stools, and 24 student computer desks and chairs.

Interior renovations included new flooring, full painting of walls and ceiling, and installation of a new storefront system with double doors to create a clean, modern entry into the lab. Storage was expanded with 20 feet of new cabinetry for materials and equipment.

This renovation delivers a cutting‑edge Robotics Lab that supports programming, automation, CNC machining, collaborative robotics, and advanced manufacturing education—preparing students for high‑demand technical careers.
