Whetstone Theater Renovation

Prodigy completed a comprehensive renovation of the Whetstone High School auditorium, transforming the aging performance space into a modern, accessible, and high‑functioning environment for concerts, theater productions, assemblies, and community events. The project included full replacement of seating, theatrical systems, finishes, and stage components, along with new accessibility features and improved audience circulation.

Seating Replacement & Accessibility Improvements
All auditorium seating was removed and replaced, resulting in approximately 610 seats after reconfiguring the front center section to provide ADA‑compliant seating. New aisle carpeting was installed throughout the space, including the front of the auditorium, and aisle lighting was added either within the floor or integrated into the seating system.

Theatrical Systems Upgrades
Prodigy replaced the full suite of performance systems, including:

• New theater curtains and rigging

• New theatrical lighting fixtures

• New sound system, including wireless microphones

• New projector and motorized screen

• New sound and lighting control board located at the back center of the theater

• New sound board desk for improved operator workflow

These upgrades significantly enhance production quality, flexibility, and ease of use for staff and students.

Architectural & Interior Improvements
The renovation included:

• Replacement of two sets of interior double doors, one exterior double door, and one single corridor door

• Sanding and refinishing of the stage floor

• Painting of walls, ceilings, and exposed concrete beneath seating

• Patching and replacing ceiling areas where demolition occurred

• Repainting the stage‑to‑hall door black for a clean, professional appearance

• Removal of added platforms and stairs to restore the original stage layout

Acoustic Enhancements
Prodigy designed and installed new acoustical treatments to improve clarity, reduce echo, and enhance the overall listening experience for both performers and audiences.

This renovation delivers a fully refreshed, accessible, and performance‑ready auditorium that elevates the arts experience at Whetstone High School and supports a wide range of school and community events.
