Tolles Cybersecurity Lab Renovation

Prodigy delivered a full renovation of the Cybersecurity Lab at Tolles Technical & Career Center, modernizing two adjoining classrooms into a unified, high‑performance learning environment designed for hands‑on technology instruction. The 4,393 sq. ft. renovation included demolition, new flooring, ceilings, lighting, casework, electrical upgrades, HVAC improvements, and installation of a large bi‑folding glass partition to create a flexible, collaborative space.

Architectural and engineering services supported the redesign and permitting of the new floor plan. Work began with demolition of existing carpet, ceiling grid, ceiling pads, and designated walls. New walls were constructed to form a storage room and to support TV display zones adjacent to the new bi‑folding glass door system.

Flooring upgrades included removal of existing carpet and installation of new commercial‑grade nylon carpet tiles (color selected by the owner).

Ceiling improvements included full removal of the existing grid and pads and installation of a new acoustical ceiling system throughout both classrooms.

Electrical upgrades included a new electrical panel, reworking of circuits to support 50 computer stations, and installation of a subfloor power and data raceway system. Power and data were distributed to support the lab’s technology‑heavy layout.

HVAC improvements included installation of a supplemental cooling system to maintain comfort during warmer months, with relocation of thermostats as needed.

Bi‑folding glass door installation required demolition of the wall between classrooms and installation of a structural steel header and bearing points. The new 29'-4" operable glass partition includes a man door and can collapse forward or backward depending on instructional needs.

Casework upgrades included new storage casework at the rear of the space.

Lighting improvements included replacement of all 2x4 troffers with LED backlit panels featuring occupancy controls and dimmers. Red and blue cove lighting was added to reinforce the program’s identity and enhance the space’s visual appeal.

Interior finishes included painting walls and door frames, installation of red and blue hexagon wall treatments, and future installation of Corsair‑themed wall art and Tolles branding.

Technology upgrades included relocation of the PA/intercom system and installation of four 85" smart TVs in each classroom, complete with mounting hardware.

This renovation delivers a modern, flexible, and visually striking Cybersecurity Lab designed to support advanced instruction, collaboration, and hands‑on learning for Tolles students.
